Punta Verde Zoo
The Punta Verde Zoo in Lignano celebrates biodiversity. Here you can observe up close a wide variety of exotic animals from all over the world, such as lemurs, sea lions, kangaroos and llamas. The zoo is involved in conservation and environmental education programmes, helping to promote the protection of various species.
Marano bird sanctuary
The bird sanctuary covers a large area of the lagoon and is home to an extraordinary variety of bird species. The oasis is a refuge for numerous migratory birds, such as pink flamingos and herons, which you can spot during your visit. Through well-maintained paths and observation platforms, you can even up get close to the various birds without disturbing them.
Venice, Trieste and Udine
Hotel Daniele is even an excellent base for visiting major cities in the surrounding area, such as Venice, Udine and Trieste. Venice is sure to captivate you with its romantic canals and breathtaking architecture, whilst Trieste offers a cosmopolitan culture with views of the Adriatic Sea. Udine, rather, surprise you with its historical heritage and typical Friulian culinary delights.
Teghil Stadium
The Teghil municipal stadium hosts numerous concerts of national and international artists every year. It has seen the likes of Tiziano Ferro, Vasco Rossi, Ultimo and Cesare Cremonini perform. The stadium is about 1 kilometre from Hotel Daniele and can be reached in 15 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by bicycle or car.
Marano
Marano is a charming village in the heart of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Its historic city centre is characterised by narrow cobbled alleys, well-preserved historical buildings and a vibrant medieval atmosphere. Marano is also famous for its wine tradition, with the surrounding hills adorned with vineyards producing delicious local wines, such as the famous Refosco. Food lovers will appreciate the local gastronomy, with delicious dishes combining Italian and Austrian-Hungarian influences.
Isola delle Conchiglie
The Isola delle Conchiglie in Lignano is a nature reserve located between the Adriatic Sea and the Marano Lagoon. It boasts an extraordinary variety of migratory birds, aquatic plants and – as the name that translates to “Shell Island” reveals – a large collection of shells from all over the world. Here, you can admire animals in their natural habitat and discover bird species that stop here during their migrations.
Acqua Splash Water Park
Acqua Splash is the destination for spending a fun-filled day with the whole family. Take on the high-speed slides, relax in pools with artificial waves and keep the little ones entertained in the children’s areas. The park is also equipped with areas for relaxation, such as sun loungers and shaded areas, ensuring your stay is nice and comfortable.
Collio Friulano
Collio Friulano is a hidden gem in north-eastern Italy. The area is famous for its terraced vineyards, where high-quality grapes are cultivated. Once harvested, these grapes are used to produce fine wines, including the renowned Friulano white. Collio’s landscape also lends itself to hiking and cycling, thanks to its verdant hills and immense valleys.
